Create a new scope

In this article, you'll find out how to customize your technology watch by creating scopes.

SUMMARY

What is a scope ?

The scope is the central element of your technology watch. It consists of 3 distinct elements :

  • A list of associated technologies : the technologies you wish to monitor for this scope.
  • A list of users subscribed to this scope. They will receive an email when one of the technologies associated with the scope is subject of a bulletin.
  • An action plan listing all the actions to be taken for your patch management for this scope (a patch to be applied, a workaround until a patch is released).

Step 1 : Create a scope

Sign on the Portal

1. From the Yuno tab, go to the "My scopes" page.
2. On the My Yuno scopes page, click on the "+" button to create a new scope.
3. In the window that opens, enter :

  • (required) a name for your scope
  • (required) a scope owner. This person will have write permissions on the scope, will be able to add/delete users to the scope and will automatically be assigned all action tickets from this scope.
  • (required) your yuno subscription (usually "Abonnement Yuno - [company name]")
  • (optional) one or more users who will monitor this scope. You can choose to give them read-only rights (to view the scope) or write-only rights (to add/remove monitored technologies and users, and to modify the scope's advanced settings). Make sure you have created these users beforehand.

4. Once you have made your selection, click on the "Apply" button and then on "Apply" in the confirmation pop-up window.

5. You will find the selected technologies in the list of deployed technologies.

Step 2 : Associate technologies with your scope

1. From the list of scopes, click on the name of your scope and a new window will open.

2. Go to the "deployed technology(ies)" tab in the horizontal banner, then click on the pencil button to associate your technologies with your scope.

3. In the pop-up window that opens, select the technologies you wish to associate with this scope:

  • From the drop-down list on the right
  • By using the filter by publisher
  • By typing the name of the technology in the search field

4. Once you have made your selection, click on the "Apply" button and then on "Apply" in the confirmation pop-up window.

5. You will find the selected technologies in the list of deployed technologies.

Tip: To associate all the technologies from the same publisher with your scope, choose your publisher using the "Filter by publisher(s)" filter and then click on the "Select all" button.

Step 3 : Associate other users with your scope

  • From the list of scopes, click on the name of your perimeter and a new window will open.
  • Go to the "Users" tab in the horizontal banner, then click on the "Assigna user" button.
  • In the pop-up window that opens, select the users you wish to include in the perimeter.
  • Click on "apply" to complete the configuration.

Step 4 : Advanced customization of the technical cyber watch

You are just starting to get to grips with Yuno. During this launch phase, the volume of information sent to you by XMCO may be too great, despite the pre-selection of technologies. Effective monitoring of all your subjects then becomes complicated.

In this situation, you can customize your technical perimeters so that you only receive bulletins that correspond to your needs.
On the left of your screen, click on My perimeters in the Yuno menu. This will allow you to select the perimeter whose configuration you wish to adapt.

From this page you can customize your scope by modifying the filtering parameters for mailing reception.

You can :

  1. Select the types of bulletins you wish to receive (Vulnerability Discovery, Patch Publication or Exploit Code);
  2. Select the severity of the bulletins you wish to receive.

Note: These settings are cumulative. You cannot receive high-level patches, only medium- and high-level vulnerabilities.

NB: From this page you can also customize the automatic generation of tickets for your action plans (see 3.).
